L.S. Dunes Announces Sophomore Album Violet and Releases Title Track

American rock supergroup L.S. Dunes—featuring members of Saosin, Circa Survive, My Chemical Romance, Thursday, and Coheed and Cambria—is back with a new era of music. The band has announced their highly anticipated sophomore album, Violet, set for release on January 31, 2025, via Fantasy Records.

Alongside the announcement, the band has released the album's title track, giving fans a glimpse into the transformative energy of their latest work.

Formed during the turbulence of the pandemic, L.S. Dunes made a powerful debut with their album Past Lives in 2022, earning a devoted global fanbase and a reputation for chaotic, cathartic energy. However, as frontman Anthony Green reflects, the debut came with personal challenges.

“I became so sick of playing the song where I sing, ‘Sorry that I wish that I was dead,’” Green admits, referencing the track Sleep Cult. “I’m grateful that people resonate with it, but it just wasn’t helpful for me to sing that every night. This time, I wanted to make a record that says there is magic in the world—something that celebrates music’s transformative power.”

With Violet, produced by Grammy-nominated Will Yip, L.S. Dunes takes a bold step forward. The album opens a more expansive and introspective sonic palette, balancing the band’s signature intensity with themes of hope and redemption.

Tracks like Machines pulse with steady confidence, Paper Tigers inspires empowerment, and Forgiveness emerges as an anthem of love and acceptance.

The album’s title carries its own mystique. Guitarist Frank Iero explains:

“Violet came to me while I was mumbling scratch lyrics. It became the working title for the song and eventually the album. It just happened—it appeared out of nowhere.”

Violet invites fans to embrace the magic of music and surrender to its transformative power. With this release, L.S. Dunes promises a dynamic evolution, offering hindsight, hope, and connection.

Violet drops January 31, 2025, but the journey begins now with the release of the title track. Listen today and prepare for a record that redefines the sound of L.S. Dunes.
