Teenage Joans Release New Single "5 Things I Can Taste"

Adelaide's indie rock duo, Teenage Joans, has unveiled their latest infectious single, "5 Things I Can Taste."

It's the duo's second release from their upcoming debut album, "The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest," set to drop on October 13 via Domestic La La.

"5 Things I Can Taste" is a testament to Teenage Joans' ability to blend catchy pop-infused melodies with a punk edge.

The duo shared their thoughts on the track, stating, "When we were looking for the missing piece, we realized we wanted to write a fast-paced, almost punk song to top off the album.

As 'counting 5 things you can see' is a mechanism to help ground yourself when experiencing anxiety, we wanted the lyrics to feel sporadic and chaotic, kind of how anxious thoughts feel."

Teenage Joans, comprising Cahli Blakers and Tahlia Borg, burst onto the scene in 2018 as teenagers and quickly gained recognition, winning the triple j Unearthed High crown in 2020.

As 2023 unfolds, Teenage Joans are poised for their most exciting year yet, with performances at prestigious events like Groovin The Moo and SXSW showcases, as well as a headline appearance at Adelaide's UNIFY Off The Record.
